World Asthma Day 2005 took place on Tuesday, May 3. Events and activities worldwide took place around the theme "The Unmet Needs of Asthma." The GINA Executive Committee chose this theme to build on last year's theme, "The Burden of Asthma," and call the attention of doctors and patients alike to the need for better asthma treatment and control. By recognizing and meeting the unmet needs of asthma, we can begin to reduce the burden of this disease.
